Aluco doors are a ‘steel look’ collection and are proud to be the first company in the UK to create steel lookalike windows and doors. Steel look glazing being the sole focus and ensuring the most authentic, art deco & heritage inspired aluminium is produced.
They offer both Exterior and Interior Doors including sliding & pocket doors, along with screens and partitions.
Their exterior steel look doors deliver classic industrial finished products with slim sightlines to maximise the natural light in your home. Whilst not compromising on delivering excellent thermal, security and weathering performance.
One of the most distinctive features they offer is the floating lock design which is seen with steel doors. This is where the handle and it’s backplate connects into the glass, thus giving the illusion that the handle is floating.
Their exterior collection offers both single and double doors, featuring authentic design details which include slim 25mm glazing bars or the super slim 20mm upgrade
Tips on spotting a genuine steel look door on the market:
- Make sure they have the iconic feature backplate (this is behind the handle) otherwise it is just a standard door
- Floating lock design as previously mentioned, this gives the ‘look’ of a floating handle
- Slimline profiles
- Rolled steel appearance which give the thinnest of profiles
- Thin glazing bars which offer either 25mm or 20mm
- No dummy sashes (applicable if you have French doors with side panels). By having a dummy sash, it disrupts the clean sightlines of the true steel look design
- Flexible door sizes (Aluco Elite Doors can reach up to 2400mm in height)
- Classic styling with modern functionality; such as adjustable hinges, accessible thresholds and black colour-matched cylinders
- Correct thermal performance for both double and triple glazing which complies with Building Regulations

Matt Black RAL9005 & Anthracite Grey RAL7016 are the most popular and traditional colours chosen, there are however special colours available from the RAL colour option range.
